Here is the common political cartoon associated with the Non-Aggression Pact.

THE CHALLENGE:  Use Soapstone to construct a point of view statement for this cartoon....post it under comments.

  1. The artist who drew this cartoon was against the non-agression pact that was signed by Hitler and Stalin, he wanted to show us how ridiculous this idea was, and make people wonder how long this "marriage" or agreement will really last, before the pact is broken and they get a divorce.

  2. This cartoon shows that Hitler and Stalin has an agreement to not fight each other and it would last long, but since the quote beneath asks "how long the honeymoon will last", it makes the reader think that this agreement would not last long because Hitler always wants to conquer USSR, so Hitler might not really want this agreement, but have plans without Stalin knowing it.

  3. This cartoon shows that Hitler and Stalin's agreement of not to attack each other, which is symbolized by the wedding of Stalin and Hitler, which was supposed to for a long time only lasted for a very short time; the treaty is symbolized as their honeymoon because honeymoons are peaceful times but they end eventually, just like the pact between Germany and USSR.

  4. Not believing the that the Nazi-Soviet Pact is an alliance system, this artist is trying to raise the question of the length of duration of the Non-Aggression Pact, which temporarily unifies a pleased Hitler and Stalin while they but time achieve their personal goals - Hitler's unwillingness to fight a war on two fronts and Stalin's need of more time to prepare his army for an attack from Germany.

  5. The artist of this political cartoon portrays the non-agression Pact between the dictator of Russia, Stalin, and the dictator of Germany, Hitler to be fragile and temporary like a couple on a honeymoon which is known to be peaceful and delight but only for a very short amount of time before they start to get back to their real lives again because Hitler will eventually decide to divorce or break the agreement.
